 A Voice from Marriage Market 

Is that malicious smile...?No...No...
Then victory smile...? Lonely smile...?
No...fake smile...?No...No...
I couldn't find out the kind of that smile in on my parent's face...
What is the use of saying "I am a graduate "
Even i couldn't find out what is going on their face....Hmmm...
But... i am sure...
There is an inability and frustrate on that smile...
Yeah....i am pretty sure....
They smile when they see me...but that's not real smile....
Not real....Then why....?
Anything wrong with me....?
Do i have to analyse myself ....?


I'm daughter of poor but kind hearted couple ....
And elder sister of two little princes in Kalmunai...Hmm....
My parent sent me to educate
Until got a degree from Eastern University ...Yeah...
Now... I'm in age of twenty four...Twenty four ...
Is this age for get marry ...? Yeah...
Everyone says like that....


Then....
Proposals come and refuse instantly ...Hmm...
I don't know why....Aren't i literate ....?
Aren't i religious girl...? No..No..That's not problem ...Then why....?
Something is going wrong...Yeah...
Marriage proposals become as business deals...Hmm...


Dowry ...this is the problem ...
Reason fot that 'smile'...
If a girl wants to marry...,
Should she give dowry to bridegroom ...?
I understand ....Now i understand ....
The reason for that 'smile'
This is the same 'smile'...that they smiled,
When my puberty function ....


My parent want to hand over me to a man...
No..not hand over...they want sell me...Yeah...
It's true...that's not marriage ...
That's business ....
But new kind of business ...ha..hah..ha...
Yeah...Really ...They sell us...
Also give money to 'buyer '....
For the protection of their own thing...Hmm...
New kind of business ....Dowry ...


Samething is happening to me....
I'm rated (bitter smile) in marriage market...
And I'm refused ...because...
I'm unable to give dowry 
For my own protection ...I'm depressed ...
My heart is burning ...not only my heart ...
All the girls' heart who are in marriage market ...


And i want to say onething to men....
Yeah...i want to say....want to say....
If you're a genuine men....
If you want to marry a girl....
Buy her by giving your own money ....

This is our own effort for write a film script based on one of our subject Writing for Media. This is the synopsis of my script " Vasantham"( The spring). Dhiya is a elder daughter of illness father and mother who goes to house hold works and sends her and her sister to educate. As her mother's dream and her too Dhiya completed her university studies and appointed as a teacher in her village. In between her studies she meets Rakesh sh who loves her and builds a good relationship with her before his proposal.
